frescade: a cool walk; cool or shady place
Happy Friday! This week, for your frescade pleasure:
- I know the whole self-care movement is taking the world by storm right now, and I love it! Here's 19 things you might not have thought of as self-care by Katie Dalebout, author of Let It Out: A Journey Through Journaling - a book that I am dying to read and add to my writing practice!
- Elizabeth Gilbert never fails to inspire me, and her 2014 note about bringing the light into any situation - even a NYC cross-town bus - really spoke to me this week!
- A great article by Philly Magazine on the "woman card" that Trump has been speaking of...oh, as much as I hate to post an article that even mentions him, this is worth the read.
- I got to see Todd Carmichael speak about risk today at Creative Mornings PHL, and he blew the crowd away! I'm writing a longer piece on this, but I'll just leave you with this quote for now: "Risk is the river of existence that you were born to...there are big class 5 rapids in the middle and tide pools on the sides...how you paddle on it will shape your life." So inspiring! And he invented the draft latte, which is pretty much the best coffee drink ever. Go to La Colombe (if you haven't yet) immediately!
And now, for your Friday Frescade tune....dance the weekend away!
